Wardrobe & Props
Jacobee is a fashion designer and artist with a strong dance background. She earned her BS in Dance from Skidmore College and danced and competed in Ohio and New York. Her work, often made from upcycled, repurposed, and reimagined materials, comes from a love of theater, dance, and literature, and a personal philosophy of using one’s style and surroundings to tell a unique story. She often thinks of her pieces as stills from lost films, or storyboards ready to be made into full-blown productions.
Officiant/Father of the Bride
Rev. Young Yoo has been an ordained minister of the Korean Presbyterian Church for nearly 30 years. He earned his MDiv and ThM from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has traveled extensively around the world as a speaker, advisor, and missionary. He has performed hundreds of weddings, and this is his first on a mountain ledge. Young and his wife Mihyung married in 1977 and spent their honeymoon in Yosemite National Park, something his daughter Joyce and her groom-to-be Shane first learned after they had already planned to marry in Yosemite. Young enjoys collecting guitars and other stringed instruments from various cultures around the world.
Maid of Honor
Mollie is an entrepreneur with a strong background in financial management and the non-profit sector. She earned her MBA from Pepperdine University, where she met Joyce. Originally from Maryland, she has been living in Los Angeles for 12 years. She has been climbing for about 3 years and describes the problem-solving aspect of it as “a puzzle for your body”. Despite having a fear of heights, she conquered it to ascend 300 feet to a ledge for the wedding. Mollie has been known to put on elaborate synchronized swimming shows in her backyard in her youth.
Best Man
Louis is a tattoo artist and fitness enthusiast who enjoys Crossfit and scuba diving. Originally from Upstate New York in the same hometown as Shane and Jeff, he now lives in San Luis Obispo, CA. He had previous climbing experience when he was younger but had not climbed in 18 years prior to training for El Cap Wedding. Louis is waiting to be discovered as the “Chosen One”, selected by a secret government project or bitten by a radioactive spider in order to develop superhuman abilities to fight for…well, maybe not “good”, but “pretty good”.
